Dierks Bentley - The Country Calling

At the age of 17, he was introduce to ‘Man to Man’, a classic track of Hank Williams Jr, and he know it right away, the best for him.

Start to grow his interest in country music while in Lawrenceville School, New Jersey, Dierks Bentley born in Phoenix Arizona, now can stand proud as the most influence musician in United States. "That moment really changed my whole perspective, everything just clicked. I just knew I loved country music." Since then, he learns to play rhythm guitar, writing songs and travel to Nashville to immerse in the industry.


Dierks Bentley discourage by the locals during his first interception, making him to sit back and think the best way to spread his music. He takes the opportunity working at The Nashville Network (TNN) to make finding and research for season footage of country music performances. Besides, Dierks also spent his time at Station Inn, a meeting place for Nashville bluegrass fans with a fake ID to observe and paste what he thought suitable for his music. "Thank God I walked in there; Bluegrass gave me my whole foundation. I thought: these people and this music and this building; this is where I'm going to build from." Collecting what he learns, he braves himself to perform in different environment from towns, local bars to backyard parties before recorded a demo, which enables him to sign under Capital Nashville in 2003. Dierks singles, “What Was I Thinkin” climb number 1 spot on U.S Billboard Hot Country Singles and Track. Dierks not stopping there, two more singles appeared as well with CMT Flameworthy Award, a CMA nomination and the ACM’s top new artist prize. Combining his love for travel, Dierks has spend 300 days on tour around U.S visiting remote area of Elma Washington, Wisconsin, Porterfield, Wyoming, Rock Springs and include tour on south side of America.

While, living in Tennessee, Dierks married to Cassidy Black, which also has roots from his hometown, Phoenix. The couple has two dogs, which they named it as Jake and George. For record, Jake has made few appearance in Dierks video clip and photograph session. In December 2005, they left US and eloped to Mexico. 2 months before that, Bentley had his first sensation in his music career; his show in Eugene, Oregon was sold out. A proof of improvement in his music show up when Bentley third album, ‘Long Trip Alone’ release into market in late 2006, pressing the industry with two good singles ‘Every Mile a Memory’ and ‘Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)’ claiming spots in 2008 Grammy Nomination as the Best Country Album. The continuity of appreciation occurred as Dierks nominated again as Best Country Song for ‘Long Trip Alone’, Best Male Country Performance and Best Long Form Music Video for ‘Live & Loud at The Fillmore’ – a DVD shoots in Denver, Colorado directed by Russell Thomas.

On February 19 2008, Dierks announce that his material on queue into stores. The hits collection that expected to be on market on May 6 2008 carves another slot for his discography. Until now, Dierks already produce 4 studio album, 11 singles, and 10 video for locals and international music listener. His latest project involving fans and visitor to his website www.dierks.com enable public to name the album in “DB Hits/Fan Project” program, choose photos and select their favourite live tracks. For Dierks, this is the best way to thank back everyone who stand behind and support him since day one of his career – The Country Calling
